Beach party (sensitive viewers beware)

Went to a beach for a party with young people from two other Homes. One Home brought their sound system so we were able to blast the music, which was great. Pudge was a party animal and stayed up till 2 bobbing to the music. Although it was a tad chilly with all the wind, it was great fun partying, dancing and just relaxing with friends. Some of the guys, Dada included, gave in to a drink induced urge to run into the ocean and get soaking wet, not to mention getting nasty scratches from the rocks in the shallow. Ouch.
The next day we all crashed down on a family restaurant to drink and eat and afterwards went back for a barbecue. It was quite cold but we got treated to a beautiful sunset with Mt. Fuji in the background. And had yummy barbecue and beer to go with it.
The kids had fun playing in the sand, especially Pudge. Chubs was really looking forward to swimming. but it was too chilly this time.
Hopefully there'll be more opportunities in the future

Had a special dinner tonight as a Home as part of our treasure the treasurers application, though we decided to do it for everyone since it's not only the childcare workers who deserve the spotlight (my two cents on the subject). Everyone had two hours off in the afternoon and then had a dinner of wine, pizza, spaghetti, coleslaw and corn soup. Should have taken pictures but was too tired too. Went well and everyone is now stuffed. Anyone for dessert of brownies and icecream?

Pudge is a pro at walking now and takes off on a dash when it pleases her to. Conversely, if she doesn't want to walk anywhere she'll pretend to drop dead when you try to pull her somewhere.
The past few days have been raining and so we've been faithfully attending our local mall to give the kids a place to get their yayas out and Pudge loves it. Altogether she made three mad dashes: One for an elevator, and the other two for escalators (Of course, she didn't stand a chance). Then when I tried to get her to walk away from them she dropped to the floor, a dead weight in my hand, smiling up at me knowingly. Geesh...
She's also tried to take a cart from another child, started rummaging through the basket of a person waiting in line for the cashier, and pulled on the pants of a man browsing through a rack of jeans.
But then again, life is a walk in the park for a one-year-old.

Temporarily invading this blog to post a song for my husband who got me roses for my birthday, promised to take me out to eat (as he was swamped with work on my birthday)and wrote a cute, funny poem for me on his carpentry blog. You're so sweet and fun. I love you, Akira, and am proud to be your wife.

I realized that I had 69 posts. Sounds like a good number to have reached on my birthday. haha. Chubs told me he didn't want to sing me happy birthday until the cake is brought out. sigh...

Long time no post

So busy lately that I've totally neglected my duties to this blog. will say my hail marys later...(confession rooms must be such fun) ahem.
Chubs is talking a whole lot now and isn't as whiny as a result. Pudge can almost run and understands quite a bit when you talk to her. She knows when shes doing something naughty and if we catch her in the act she'll try to run away. She's gonna be a terror when she hits two.
On a positive note, she likes to put things away and be thanked for it. She can be good when she wants to.

This one was so cute. Chubs found a soft pillow on Pudge's tummy. We lifted him off to wake him up but he refused and felt around and put his head back on her tummy. She woke up in a foul mood.
